The Wind

The wind it huffed
The wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Day was hot
Throat was parched
What could it be
To lighten plight

The wind it huffed
The wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Room was small
Like gaol it was
Head was made light
Feet almost numb

Though wind it huffed
Though wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Could we go out
Could we explore
Could we take trail
And see the world

Though wind it huffed
Though wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Soon came cloud
Soon came rain
Sun was out
Through silver sheet

The wind it huffed
The wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Rain soon died
Land was calm
Dust abated
Day was cooled

The wind it huffed
The wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Lace got tied
Trail got beat
Off we went
To see the world

But wind it huffed
And wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed

Not far we went
But still was great
We did explore
And world we saw

But wind it huffed
And wind it puffed
The grass it bent
The trees it swayed
